Ian Tries Peanut Butter

I've held off giving peanut butter to Ian for a long time because it is recommended to wait until between 18 months and 2 years old to lessen the risk of peanut allergy. Delay even longer if there is a family history of allergies. We don't have a family history of peanut allergy, so I decided that now is the time to try it.

Too cute - I like his serious contemplation of this new taste sensation! My kids do not like peanut butter and jelly. I hated peanut butter when I was a kid too - only learned to eat it after I was pregnant!

I sometimes make a peanut butter and nutella sandwich, sometimes with a tiny bit of jam or honey, sometimes not. The kids like to grab bites of that, but not a whole sandwich. Nutella looks decadent, but it is similar to peanut butter if you read the nutrition label. Everything in moderation.

I love nutella! Ian loves chocolate so I know he would love nutella as well. I like peanut butter apple and peanut butter crackers. I do not like peanut butter cookies, though.

I dip Roxxy's treats in peanut butter and let Ian give them to her and he has been asking to try it for awhile. I got him natural peanut butter with just peanuts and salt instead of the kind I get for Roxxy that has sugar and oil in it as well.
