Ian has been saying 4-5-6 before he throws a ball or jumps, etc.
I asked him,"What about 1-2-3?"
He said,"No!"
I think it is because I say "1-2-3" before I send him to the chair and lately, I haven't been patient about it. It works better when you are patient and act as if either choice, cooperation or sitting in the chair is fine. Lately, I have not been so successful in that!

No 1, 2, 3! What a smarty! Strong little personality! Moms do not always have the patience we need - sigh! I would sometimes put me in time out too, with the kid in need of it, if I was too impatient or short-tempered. Honor will sometimes tell me 'You time-out too!' Gave her control, and it gave us some make-up, bonding time.
Yesterday, the dog wouldn't pee after breakfast and I knew she had to, but she wouldn't focus because there were workers out and she got freaked out. So I yelled at her and dragged her back inside. At noon, I took her out and it was the same thing and I did the same thing only this time I put her in the kennel so she wouldn't pee on the floor. She was stressed out so she couldn't relax and I yelled at her and made it worse. Finally, about 2pm, I took her out again and I was calmer and she went. I have been really short on patience lately!
