I did it again! At Eva's 6 month checkup, I was looking deep into her eyes and smiling. Then they gave her the shots. Her pupils instantly dilated and she started screaming. I think I traumatized her for life. She is going to associate pain with me. I did this before as well. I think next time, I won't look at her until after.
I really need to start filling in her baby book. Another reason for therapy as I put quite a bit into Ian's book. I even had it at his third birthday party because there is a page about third birthday in it. I'll have to look through the blog and Twitter for Eva's updates.
Eva is in the 38% for weight. She was in the 86% at the two month check up I think. She is hardly wasting away, in fact, she is chunkier than Ian, so I don't think anything is wrong with her. She weighs 7.2 kg (almost 16 lbs). I wonder if the fact that she chose her own birthday (unlike so many others, including Ian) had anything to do with her being at the top of the weight charts when she was younger.
She is vocalizing and spitting a lot. Besides pteradactyl noise, I've heard "hi", "mama", "dad", and "What are you people doing?" among other things. I don't count these as real words because she isn't associating them to people/objects or saying them in context, but that just gives you an idea about her vocal experimentation.

"What are you people doing?" Haha, cracks me up.
Dexter has "serious talks" with me all the time. I love baby babbling...
Honor was my chatterbox (still is) and I am constantly amazed at what comes out of her mouth. She wants my computer right now, so Miss 6 asks me what I'm doing? Reading blogs, I say. She catches me typing a moment later, so she tilts her little head, hands on hips, and sarcastically comments, "I thought you said you were reeeading?!" I'm sure it's a girl thing. Can't wait (am scared) to see how this vocal little critter grows the next 10 years or so.
My kids tended to be (and still are) high in (completely off) the height chart and low in the weight charts. They are both tall and skinny. The charts are for 'average' kids and some kids refuse to be average! Oh, and don't worry about the therapy... I'm sure it's us moms who will recount these details to our future therapists; kids forget! "oh look, it's Sponge Bob!"....
Thomas always takes his shots like a champ! He might scream once they inject him, but then he is done and the few tears that squeeze out quickly fade. Poor Eva, hope she wasn't too traumatized! Sounds like you may be more traumatized than her!
Oh Mama Seoul, the title of this post is so funny!! I think your friend Connie is right ... it's surely us Mums who worry more about things than the baby. I seriously have 238473945739847 hours of therapy in my future tu talk about all this sleep stuff, while no doubt K won't care at all!
My sister is guiltily filling in her fourth baby's baby book!~! K doesn't even have one ... I'm going to do scrapbooking when we get back home and make him a scrapbook about his first year.
Hope to see you soon!
