Recycling: T-Shirt to Newborn Gown

On the Expat Parents Club Forum, Bethany pointed us to a site called, Rookie Moms, which linked to a site called, This Mama Makes Stuff which had a great idea for recycling t-shirts into newborn gowns.

This is right up my alley as I am tying to reduce the amount of clothing I have that I never wear. I think both sites merit further reading and linking. I haven't made the pattern, but if I get around to it, I will post pictures...

Hey! I used this site too and I made two of those gowns. Mine turned out pretty big for a newborn. You might want to add a bit of length for an older baby too.

Wow, I can't even sew a button on when it falls off! You moms are amazing! These looked really cool and practical, perhaps with the next baby I will have to learn how to sew! ^^

I can't sew well, either, but I do have a machine. Jess can teach both of us!

I'm getting more and more comfortable with being a mom every day. Soon... I think it would be fun to do this together. If you do decide to do these, I believe she included seam allowance in the pattern. I added on so that's probably why mine turned out big in the neck... They look more like 6 or 9 month size. I should have added length though. Si is long.
