Some even have to have hysterectomies. Because the complications like hysterectomy don't always happen during the original procedure, but months to years afterward because of residual problems from the c-section, no one talks about it. Also, numbness is very common after c-section.

Doctors don't paint a realistic picture of c-section side effects because they think their skill can control/ prevent, but unfortunately, that is not true.

I love Stephanie's story and your story and mine because we all had c-sections and successfully breastfed. It is much harder to be successful after a c-section especially if you have difficulties.

Makes those of us who have healed well feel very grateful!Mama Seoulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16013830400454840736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4906326566013649084.post-71145685992140434862010-08-13T05:24:31.279-07:002010-08-13T05:24:31.279-07:00I think her case is more on the extreme side, but ...I think her case is more on the extreme side, but there are quite a few c-section patients whose incision re-opens, get infections and have to have repeat surgeries to fix the problem. It is wonder...Hooray for you for being so positive! It is wonderful that you have been able to breastfeed as long/often as you have, and may you continue to do so :) I have never heard of an non-healing C-section wound! Ever!! If it is so common, why isn't is talked or written about more? I sure hope yours is sorted out asap! I had 2 c-sections. The first was a medical emergency and a T-incision. I had to have a 2nd c-section for my daughter. I had no complications at all, physically. Emotionally though, I wish I'd prepared more for the 'what if's... you know, what if my birth doesn't go according to MY plan? I simply never thought to prepare for that. Seems obvious now, and I do believe in always looking to the positive, but it also helps to be prepared for the negative. o well... thanks so much for sharing your story, and I hope you continue to heal well and can continue to nurse your daughter.Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03667481504650498976noreply@blogger.com
